Genesis Block
On January 3rd, 2009, the very first block on Bitcoin’s blockchain was mined with a message from its creator that said:
“The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor On Brink Of Second Bailout of Banks“
This first block is known as the Genesis Block and it is the foundation on which the rest of the Bitcoin blockchain will continue on.
