A Bitcoin noob, newb or newbie, refers to a person who is new to Bitcoin and is only starting to learn how it works, how to acquire Bitcoin and could start engaging with the broader Bitcoin online community. They are often identified by the basic questions they would ask, lack of understanding or their poor Bitcoin security and privacy practices.
They may also be easily swayed as they do not have a firm understanding of Bitcoin and are often referred to as those investors who sell during price corrections as they are not used to the volatility of the asset.
Noobs can also be identified by their basic mistakes like falling for various altcoin pitches or scams designed to extract Bitcoin from inexperienced Bitcoin buyers.
Noobs are getting started on their Bitcoin journey and require guidance on all things Bitcoin, from how Bitcoin works to how to purchase BTC, how to store it safely and much more.
