TBM joins the UK Bitcoin Pioneer program to
bring more Brits to Bitcoin
It’s been an exciting week for us with the launch of The Bitcoin Manual website (that we’re slowly but surely building) and our Twitter page! Not only that but meeting people from the Celsius Network last weekend was great to share experiences and stories. Then to top it all off, we’re excited to announce that the UK wing of TBM has joined the Bitcoin Pioneer education initiative from Luno to help bring more Brits to Bitcoin. Or should that be Bitcoin to the Brits?
Despite the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) trying to strike fear, uncertainty and doubt (FUD) in to the space, there are reportedly around 2 and half million of us in the UK that have Bitcoin! We know this could and should be a lot higher which is why when we heard about the Bitcoin Pioneer program, we had to apply for it!
What Is The Bitcoin Pioneer Program?
This is an initiative that was set up at the end of 2020 by Jason Deane who is a writer on all things Bitcoin and Finance with his own book called “How to Explain Bitcoin to Your Mum” and is a Luno ambassador. The Bitcoin Pioneer program has the backing from Barry Silbert who is the CEO of Digital Currency Group, owns Coindesk, Foundry, Grayscale, Genesis and Luno.

Thankfully, Luno is a really user friendly app and you will need to register an account there in order to get started on your Bitcoin journey. Once you have registered, get yourself familiar with the app, have a read in the “explore section” or suss out the wallets. Here is a list of the criteria in order to receive your gift and get started on your Bitcoin journey:
- Don’t have a Luno account already.
- Must be over 18 years old, with ID, and resident in the UK
- Must be fully registered on Luno BEFORE the promotional code is entered
